A design by Pierre Frey. Belvedere is all about restraint: a pale ground set with evenly spaced blue-grey vertical stripes, the drawing kept clean so the weave and rhythm can do the work. The surface reads fresh and composed, with the subtle texture of a jacquard giving the cloth just enough depth to feel refined rather than decorative. Made in 100% acrylic, it carries a practical character as well as a polished one, with high lightfastness and stain-, water- and mould-resisting qualities that make it easy to imagine in everyday settings. It is well suited to normal use, and would bring a quiet, ordered presence to upholstery or other interior applications where a neat striped fabric can steady a room without overwhelming it.
