A design by Pierre Frey. Socotora has the layered presence of a fabric meant to be noticed slowly: an all-over paisley drawing worked with floral detail, softened by a palette of muted red, green, beige, brown and gold. The jacquard weave gives the design a composed, tactile richness, with pattern and ground appearing to move together rather than sit apart. At 145 cm wide, it offers a generous scale for schemes that call for ornament with restraint.Its verified composition of polyester and cotton brings a practical balance to that decorative character, and the fabric is suited to moderate use. In an interior, it could bring warmth to drapery, cushions or upholstered accents where pattern is wanted to enrich a room without overwhelming it. The large repeat reinforces the sense of a classical textile, making it especially appealing in spaces that favour layered, collected combinations.
