A design by Pierre Frey. Mekran is drawn with the poised regularity of a small geometric repeat, each motif set against a light ground so the colour shifts can read clearly without feeling busy. The overall effect is ornate but disciplined: a fabric with a measured decorative pulse, softened by the warmth of its mixed fibres and the tactile depth that comes with jacquard weaving.It brings a considered, lived-in elegance to upholstery or other moderate-use settings, where pattern is wanted but should remain finely balanced. The weave’s layered character gives it enough presence to sit comfortably in rooms that favour texture, tradition, or a more eclectic arrangement, especially alongside timber, patina, and quieter plain fabrics.
