A design by Pierre Frey. Papeete is drawn in slender vertical stripes, where muted pink, red, beige and blue settle into a restrained, pleasing rhythm across the surface. The woven structure gives the fabric a quiet depth, with the character of a jacquard rather than a flat printed stripe, so the colour appears gently held within the cloth. It feels considered and balanced: decorative, but easy to live with.The composition combines linen and acrylic, bringing a natural textural presence with practical resilience. Verified properties include high lightfastness, along with stain and water repellence and resistance to mould, making it suitable for everyday interior use where a fabric needs to remain composed and visually steady. At 147 cm wide, with a vertical repeat of 15 cm, it can work neatly across upholstery or other soft-furnishing applications, especially where the stripe is allowed to run with clarity and order. Its atmosphere is one of quiet structure and softened colour, suited to rooms that favour warmth without excess.
