Pierre Frey Okapi Fabric
A design by Pierre Frey. Okapi has the sort of presence that settles a room immediately: a dark, rhythmic stripe broken by an animal-inspired drawing, all softened by a generously hairy surface. The effect is both graphic and tactile, with the pile giving the design a warm, almost clouded depth rather than a hard contrast. It feels contemporary in spirit, yet intimate and slightly wild in atmosphere. Woven as a reversible jacquard, it offers flexibility in use, and its moderate-use character makes it well suited to pieces where touch and visual richness matter more than hard wear. The composition brings together acrylic, wool, virgin wool, alpaca and polyester, lending the fabric its plush hand and layered surface. At 136 cm wide, with a vertical repeat of 136 cm, Okapi is a fabric that can bring texture, movement and a quietly dramatic note to upholstery or decorative schemes.
